Education Law II will focus on the essentials of Contract Law in an education setting.  This program is offered through a combination of face to face and teleconference sessions.
This program will be of interest and value to ASBOA members and other individuals who deal with contracts in the course of their position in the education system in Alberta.  We encourage members to register in the course with others from your system that may also benefit from this program.
 
Topics covered
  • the essentials:  offer, acceptance, consideration, performance, breach and other aspects
  • Intentional Torts (assault, battery, false imprisonment, intentional infliction of mental suffering, intentional interference with business relations, defamation (liable and slander) 
  • the rudimentary elements of Legal research
This program is not associated with a university and so university credit does not accompany the successful completion of this course.  However, the level of work required in this course is equivalent to a Master's degree on this topic
 
Successful completion of the Education Law 2 program may be used for continuing education requirements for Certified School Business Officials and may also be used by members working towards with their CSBO designation.

Total instruction time is 18 hours + research and presentation preparation.

Individual Registration - $1400 + 5% GST  = $1470.00 /pp
2 or more registrations from the same organization - $1200.00 + 5% GST = $1260.00/pp

  • Case Study Materials
Audience: This program will be of interest and value to individuals working in the education system.
Dependent upon the number of students in the program, students will be assigned 2 or more cases to brief for a class. (more students - less assignments)  A more in-depth syllabus will be provided upon registration in the program.
